Work Package 6: Testing the Manual
The recommendations of the Manual will be tested on understanding and practicality. The final Manual will be delivered and distributed to all partners.
The draft Manual will be tested by the same Working Groups (which include the same Working Group members as in Work Package 5. Each Working group will now examine and comment on the three chapters it was not in charge of during Work Package 5, resulting in chapter reviews.
Each Working Group will use the appropriate data from the survey data file for reference. Each chapter review will be sent to the responsible Work Group leader who will then adjust the chapter accordingly.
The working process will be assisted by a joint meeting and will be attended by all partners, in order to allow for optimal cross-linking of the results between the working groups. All partners will receive the adjusted draft version of the Manual before the meeting, and will be given the opportunity to comment on the chapters. Interested organizations from non-represented Member States will be able to comment on the adjusted draft version of the Manual through the forum on this website.
Carefully including the meeting’s results, the Manual will be finalised immediately by the Work Package leader and the four Working Groups leaders. The finalised Manual will be translated into 6 languages and disseminated among all partners. The Manual will be available to blood bank establishments form non-participating Member States through this website.
Throughout the testing phase of the Manual, the project management team will assist each Working Group leader in cross-linking activities through the exchange of documents using the Project’s internet platform and conference calls. Information to blood donors in participating countries will be provided through local blood donor magazines.
