Project Management Team

The project management team, formed by the work package leaders and the project leader, is responsible for the overall management of the project (organization chart). The project leader, assisted by the Advisory Board, monitors project deliverables and milestones, and can adapt the project’s work plan if assumptions are not fulfilled. Project progress is guaranteed by providing timeline-based reports by the project management team to all participants. Reports are communicated between participants by e-mail and through the internet.

The project management team performs the following activities:

• Day-to-day management of the project.
• Financial administration according to the official EC guidelines, allocation of financial support to the participants.
• Monitoring the project progress and outputs (indicators/deliverables) against the project work plan: keeping information up- to-date on the project’s website; assisting in organizing the work package meetings; writing of the project meeting reports.
• Ensuring communication between participants, e.g. by using conference calls.
• Assisting in the organization of project meetings.
• Writing the final project report.

Work Package leaders

Every work package has its own work package leader. The work package leader is responsible for monitoring progress in the work package and the Working Groups (WP5 & WP6), coordinating the activities and compiling the responses. For the duration of a work package, the work package leader will monthly discuss progress with the project leader by means of a conference call. For WP5 and WP6 four Working Groups are defined. Within these Working Groups a working group leader is responsible for the designation of tasks between working group members and the timely cooperative action of the Working Group.

Advisory Board

Members of the Advisory Board are:

Jeroen de Wit, MSc (Sanquin, the Netherlands; Chairperson)
Mr. Angus MacMillan Douglas (United Kingdom)
